She comes from an Ayurvedic/Yogic family in Kerala, India. Sharmila holds a double master's degree in the Science of Yoga and Applied Psychology. She has obtained various diplomas in yoga, encompassing different styles, from the Yoga Alliance International. Sharmila has also had the privilege of practicing under different gurus in Kerala and the Himalayas, particularly in Rishikesh. With her extensive knowledge, she serves as a mental health professional and yoga therapist, being a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). Additionally, she is an Ayurvedic health counselor certified by Kerala Ayurveda. Sharmila is also an author of various yoga programs and is actively engaged as a blogger and podcaster.
